Overview & Reviews
Lexus gives the LS 430 a midcycle freshening for 2004. Along with mild exterior revisions, the LS gets a number of new standard features, including a six-speed automatic transmission (with a manual-shift gate), adaptive headlights that swivel during turning maneuvers, knee airbags for the driver and front passenger and a moonroof. New options include the Pre-Collision system, which uses radar to detect an avoidable collision, and prepares for impact by tightening up the seatbelts, switching to sport mode on air suspension-equipped vehicles and activating maximum braking pressure. Among the other highlights are SmartAccess, which allows the driver to start up the LS without inserting a key; 18-inch wheels as part of the Sport Package; and a rear backup camera, expanded voice recognition functionality and Bluetooth hands-free phone compatibility on vehicles with the navigation system. An upgraded Mark Levinson stereo now offers seating position-optimized sound, and satellite radio is a new dealer-installed option.
- Superb ride quality, impressive array of standard and optional luxury features, top-notch interior materials, Lexus reliability.
- Not as athletic as some competitors, adding options raises the price to un-Lexus-like levels.

Best bargain for luxury driving - 2004 Lexus LS 430
By burkeday - April 20 - 10:00 amThe LS 430 has so many great "toys", its almost embarrassing! But who cares? I love it and, as a LS400 previous owner, know the redesigned LS430 is as if they read my mind when improvements commenced. No other luxury car drives better and offers more than does this Lexus, period.

relentless pays off - 2004 Lexus LS 430
By erwinrommel - February 5 - 2:00 ambrilliant execution on luxury genre. almost impossible to fault. As far as I can see it mercedes looks like tyson and lexus is hollyfield. Round by round lexus has begun to wear the feared bully down. Every volley of fire matched by lexus. amazing close quarter combat. Lexus seems unfazed by a series of high tech blows. Lexus seems to absorb evrything techno benz can throw.

Jack C Richmonds Love of his Lexuss - 2004 Lexus LS 430
By Jack C. Richmond - January 24 - 10:00 amThis is my 6th LS400 series Lexus. They all perform, ride perfectly. The best cars I have ever owned. How the Company manages to keep improving each years model is amazing. Each auto I have had has been improved with each new model, and when I have been driving them, I cant see how they can make the car any better, but they do!!

Satisfaction - 2004 Lexus LS 430
By Jack Jen - January 24 - 10:00 amThis is our third Lexus. I am completely satisfied in every feature of the Lexus LS 430. The styling, quality of workmanship, detail and overall performance is unmatched in any vehicle I have ever driven. The lack of road noise is another great feature. The gas mileage, for such a big vehicle, is outstanding. The great ride is the finest in the industry. We also have a SC 430 which we consider the best in its class. If, and when, we sell the SC 430, we intend to purchase the RX 430 beacuse of our satisfaction with our other models of Lexus. We would NEVER change from our Lexus habit.

LS 430 Review - 2004 Lexus LS 430
By John Benvenuti - January 24 - 10:00 amMy experience with the automobile has been extremely satisfactory. The ride and acceleration are great and the engine and drive train operate impeccably. I have had no problems whatsoever with the vehicle. I do think that the styling is somewhat conservative and should be redesigned to be much more distinctive and eye- catching.

Did I make the right choice... - 2004 Lexus LS 430
By Bignachy - January 24 - 10:00 amThe ride quality is very good, but not as good as my 1998 Cadillac Concours. The appointments are top notch. I still have not read the entire owners manual, so there is still much to learn about the NAV system. The car is easy to manuver in tight parking spaces. The fit and finish is excellent. The only gripe is the seats are very stiff. I am used to a little more cushioning. I would suggest that Lexus think about who is purchasing the vehicle. Not a kids car. Im 50 years old and need a little more cushioning for my back. Would I purchase another one....not sure.

Toms Review - 2004 Lexus LS 430
By Thomas A. Miller - January 24 - 10:00 amMy first consideration is performance and maintenance reliability, it is very strong in this area. Riding comfort is excellent, it is quiet and comfortable. The car is beautiful and subtle. The features on the car are practical and convenient. And one other thing the car "gets out and moves". I am 67 years old and it is without a doubt the finest car I have owned.

A MAGIC CARPET, NOT AN EGO TRIP - 2004 Lexus LS 430
By ALLSAND - January 24 - 10:00 amThe best highway cruiser Ive ever owned. A delite on the U.S, interstate systems. If youre looking to take highway off ramps at 50 mph or low gas consumption this is not the vehicle for you. Pure comfort and reliablity along with the most indulgent service ethics you could wish. My second Lexus. I shopped for the best price but not for another manufacturer.
